ARTIST STATEMENT. These vintage ornate chop sticks demonstrate that utilitarian objects can be created with elaborate designs. I used gemstones to separate the chop sticks, creating a delicate fan design.

Vintage chopsticks with abalone inlay are connect in a fan shape with bead separators of zebra jasper, baroque pearls and onyx. The fan is suspended with metal chain from a custom wood hanging rod. Hardware for mounting is included.
