ARTIST STATEMENT.  Headquartered in Wheeling, WV, Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. (1902-1967) was one of the world's largest glass companies.  Its factory in East Wheeling produced zinc and steel lids for glass jars used in home canning of fruits and vegetables. This piece is a tribute to the company and its hometown.
